Baltic World Heritage Capitals Meeting in Tallinn

Baltic World Heritage Capitals Meeting in Tallinn took place on July 14 – 15, 2021. The meeting was organized in the framework of the project „Advancement of UNESCO World Heritage sites’ maintenance in Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn“ financed through the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme „Culture“. Colleagues from Tallinn Heritage Conservation Division presented restored objects of cultural heritage: city defensive wall, churches of St. Olav and St. Nicholas, Dominican friary, interior restorations, Kalaranna Fort and Kopli quarter.

Partners of the project discussed most valuable objects restored in 3 Baltic cities and new thematic routes which would promote these objects and UNESCO world heritage. The main objective of the project is to develop an open cross-city data and cooperation platform, reflecting a comparative state of affairs and advancement in maintenance of three historic cities: Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius – UNESCO World Heritage sites. Partners of the project are City Development Department of Riga City Council, Heritage Conservation Division of Tallinn City Council and Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency.

Project meeting in Riga took place on 8-10 of July, 2020
The next meeting will be organized in Vilnius in September.
