Cultural Heritage during Lunch
Cycle of events “Cultural Heritage during Lunch” started on February, 2017. Free thematic excursions to various heritage objects are organised last Thursday of each month between 12.10 and 12.50 (during lunch break). More than 500 people took part in the events during the year 2019 (260 in 2018; 450 in 2017).
The excursion to Vilnius County Adomas Mickevičius Public Library – former Tishkeviciai Palace – was presented by librarian Asta Kazakeviciute-Bankauskiene.
Architectural and polichromic research of St. Georg Church and the Carmelites Monastery were presented on March 29, 2018.
The Church of St. Virgin Mary was visited on February 22, 2018.
We visited Lithuanian Russian Drama Theatre presented by the actor Aleksandr Kanajev on January 25th, 2018.
The excursion to the Bernardines Church presented by the guide of the church Alvydas Baltaduonis took place on December 21.
The excursion to the Orthodox Cathedral of Theotokos presented by the orthodox priest Vitalijus Mockus took place on December 1st.
The excursion to St. Trinity (Basilian) Greek Catholic Church took place on 23 of February. The architects restorers and the priest of the church told about the history, cultural heritage value, restoration and the life of the church community.
The excursion to the restored Augustinian Monastery took place on March 30.
Two excursions to Vilnius Choral Synagogue took place on April 27. The guide Natalija Heifec told about the building of the Synagogue and about traditions of judaism. More than 130 participants took part in both excursions.
The excursion to the Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit presented by the orthodox priest Vitalijus Mockus took place on May 26.
The excursion to the restored Lukiskiu Dominican Monastery presented by architect restorer Vytenis Zilinskas took place on June 29.
Baltic Amber Art Centre presented the art of amber procession and demonstrated how to make an amber amulet on July 27.
The event “Glass History in 16th c. cellars” took place on September 28 in the Stained Glass Manufactory, Stikliu St. 6. Head of the Gallery stained glass artist Julija Vaiciene presented the glass history in Vilnius, stained glass technologies and most famous Lithuanian artists of 19-20 centuries.
