Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency developed 4 applications for the Cultural Support Programme in November 2010, to be funded by Vilnius Municipality in 2011.

Project “Lost Vilnius” consists of two parts: creation of informational stands and series of lectures and thematic walks for youth. The aim of the project is cultural heritage awareness rising and promotion of special information for Vilnius guests about historic development and the lost important buildings in Vilnius Old Town.

The project “Architectural styles of Vilnius Old Town” is a digital publication, devoted to all citizens who are interested in Vilnius architectural heritage. The publication would be especially useful for Vilnius teachers and guides as a supporting tool for the preparation of educational affaires for pupils and city guests.

The project “Heritage of Three Baltic Capitals” was prepared together with colleagues from Riga and Tallinn municipalities. The project aims to strengthen regional co-operation in the field of cultural heritage management. Exchange of experience between the Baltic capitals will stimulate creation of regional means for historic towns’ maintenance, development of cultural tourism.

The project “Wooden architectural heritage in Vilnius” will continue affaires of maintaining heritage of wooden architecture. Project seeks to develop new tools for involvement of home owners, local communities and municipal wards. It’s foreseen to create an Information Centre of Wooden Architectural Heritage in Zverynas district. The Centre would have a mobile informational exposition to be “exported” to schools and other cities. It is also planned to organize 4 meetings and 2 excursions for home owners and local community, and develop a digital data base about wooden architectural heritage in Vilnius to be placed on the internet.
