Vilnius City is part of the Project „The World Heritage Journeys in the European Union“. The first UNESCO platform for World Heritage and travel was created — guiding to the most unique and authentic travel experiences, recommended by local experts and curated by National Geographic.
The Project is funded by a grant from the European Commission (Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs) to UNESCO. Unique cultural heritage experiences were created through the development of thematic transEuropean itineraries: four different journeys: Ancient Europe, Royal Europe, Romantic Europe, and Underground Europe.
Vilnius Historic Centre was included into the Romantic Europe journey.
