European Heritage Days in Vilnius

European Heritage Days took place in September 8 – 19, 2022 in Vilnius. 7 events were organised by Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency.  Craftsmen – participants of Vilnius Traditional Crafts Program presented an open-air exhibition near V. Kudirkos square which will be available till October 13. Crafts galleries – workshops opened their doors for visits and practical educations. G. Rūkas Workshop presented secrets of a very special restoration of string instruments. Baltic Amber Centre demonstrated the rich exposition of amber and a production of personal amulets. “Sauluvos” Gallery presented the unique art of Lithuanian straw compositions (called sodai). Two events took place in the Ukrainian Greek Catholic church of St. Trinity (Švč. Trejybės). The priest of the church talked about the community of Greek Catholics in Vilnius. Architect restorer A. Šolienė talked about the historical architectural development of the church, about research and restoration works. One more event – Quiz “History of print houses in Vilnius” was organised for school children.
