International forum “Vilnius and Other World Heritage Cities: Living Links”

The international forum “Vilnius and Other World Heritage Cities: Living Links” took place at Vilnius Town Hall, on October 17-18, 2024.
Participants of the Forum were greeted by Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre Lazare Eloundou Assomo (online message) and Director General of ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property) Aruna Francesca Maria Gujral (online message)
Good practices from Warsaw (Michal Krasucki), Praha (Kristyna Drapalova) and Riga (Aigars Kuskis) were presented. Lithuanian speakers presented cultural exchange, mutual influences and links between Vilnius and Kaunas, Konigsberg, Rome and Ukrainian cities. Participants from Budapest, Dubrovnik, Kuldiga, Kyiv, Riga, Zamosc, ICCROM and local heritage conservation community discussed common challenges and possible solutions.
The Forum was dedicated to the celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the inscription of Vilnius Historical Centre into the UNESCO World Heritage List (in 1994). It was organized by Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency together with Vilnius City Municipality.
