The Project –“UNESCO’s Angels - World Heritage in Toruń” (Poland)

The Project – “UNESCO’s Angels – World Heritage in Toruń” (Poland) carried out by the Informal Youth Group “Toruńskie Anioůy UNESCO” will be executed from September 1. 2009 until February 15. 2010, within the EU Programme - Youth in Action - Action 1.2. National Youth Initiative. This project is officially supported by the President of the City of Toruń - Mr Michaů Zaleski. All of the events will be held in the area of the medieval Old Town Complex of Toruń, UNESCO World Heritage site. The project is concerned with the youth’s discovering of the World Heritage in Toruń - the natal city of a great astronomer - Nicolas Copernicus. The goal is to show the “youth perspective” on the issue of protection and promotion of the world heritage, for which we all are responsible for, as the “tomorrow’s decision-makers”.

Representatives of Informal Youth Group “Toruńskie Anioůy UNESCO” have met with specialists of Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency in summer of 2009, in Vilnius. It is planned to continue co-operation between Agency and Toruń project group and further develop conservation awareness rising projects on regional and EU level.
